FiBL and its partners have established a network of long-term farming systems comparison field trials (LTE) in order to compare the performance of conventional and organic production systems for a period of 15 – 20 years. Besides, participatory on-farm research (POR) is carried out with organic farmers to develop new, locally adapted solutions for specific problems in local organic production systems. LTE trials were established between 2005 and 2008. POR activities started in 2009.
